You have until December 1st at 3pm to rank your website for the following phrase: GEANSAI GORM.

RULES :

• Entries open to all Irish individuals and Irish businesses.
• Search is to be performed on google.ie. Without Pages From Ireland selected, with personalisation off and from an Irish IP address.
• The domain to rank must be a new domain. Must not contain the keywords in the domain name at all and no ccTLD domains are to be used.
• Only want the homepage to rank, not other non-useful pages.
• 301 redirects are not permitted.
• Keywords as gaeilge instead of english but copy can be in English

For the ones who never saw "The silence of the lambs" the title of this post have no meaning and I'm not going to write this just to make an explanation of it.
The reason in choosing this title,instead of choosing geansai gorm,geansai,gorm or gorm geansai is that we're closing to an end for this SEO competition.What can I say about it,hmm...I don't know about the others Geansai Gorm competitors but for me it was,and still is fun.
Am I happy with the results so far ?
Of course I am or, as I said to somebody in an email asking me about my strategy : as long as ggwinner dot com is listed in the first 3500 results on Google SERPs out of 100.000 is still good for me because I've learned ( and experimented ) a lot of new things plus I met a bunch of nice people too ...
For the moment I'm on the 4th spot...which is not bad considering that I'm not doing this for a living :)
Is still early to predict but I can bet that the SERPs will change dramatically untill Monday : I might end up on the 3rd-4th page or...on the second spot - who knows ( I doubt it with the second spot because my number of inbound links is still under 20 or 25 which is not even 5 % of what others have )
This could be my second last post here - I definitely have to make one after the end of this Geansai gorm comp - so I would really like to say a big THANK YOU to everybody including to the ones which voted me down on Google : you've done nothing than making me work harder,that's all and I thank you for that !
If I have any regrets ?
Nope...it startet as fun and it'll finish as fun whatever the results.
P.S. Actually I do regret for not being able to make it to the Blogger / Webby Meet-up Dublin Thursday 27th Nov initiated by Jason Roe in the Porter House.

13 days with no updates might be a long time for some but I can tell you that I (should) thank Hosting365 for this time off.
At the beginning I was really pissed about but today I saw the light :
1. - I had more time for myself ( not for geansai gorm )

There's months since I wanted to watch the full serie of (Sir) Norman Wisdom's old movies sent to me by a dear friend and I can tell you that I had the time of my life doing just that ( Am I getting old ?? ).
There's years since I'm craving for something I couldn't find in shops anymore but I was lucky enough the other day to find ( by chance ) in a SUPERVALU on Talbot st.: VAT 69

Now mix this two things ( Norman and the VAT ) and you'll (probably) understand why I have nothing to say but THANK YOU to HOSTING365 for having such crap services and giving me the oportunity to have some time for myself.
THIS is all I saw in the last week whenever I tried to log into my cp lately ( I'm talking about night time when I usually do my online things )
I know they greatly advertise their services as used by the big names like Daft,Meteor,Namesco etc but hey...what about the small guys like me?
You give me no chance but to increase the VAT ( now I know where to find ) consumtion but what about my liver? Would you pick up my medical bills ?
To not ask you about the GEANSAI SEO contest anymore...
Anyway I think I've changed my mind about winning this ( not that I have a chance anymore) but today I had a lovely talk ( mail) with Cormac an I can say that I like his thinking : " 100% as gaeilge and to reel in backlinks by being the most unique and authentic site in the competition "
Well that sound like hard work and I like ( and envy ) that so thumbs up for GEANSAI GORM

My Grandma used to ask me often : " Working hard or hardly working ? " and I just used to mumble something to her but now I have the right answer : " Comparing to other people - I hardly work Grandma !"

Being busy at work ( an extreme sport sometimes I practice ) didn't help me at all with my GEANSAI GORM on Google SERPs.No time to update, no time to link building, no time for nothing...but I've noticed that others are not so lazy as I am. There are a lot of new entrants this week in this funny game and some are so serious about this that they're trying all the known ( or less known ) SEO techniques that one can imagine to secure the first spot.
The battle will become more and more fiery now that the gloves are off and the time get shorter in this GEANSAI GORM SEO Challenge and will be interesting to see who'll go deep down the Black Hat way or not.
As I said before I'll try to go forward without trying any of this ( holding on my gorm hat SEO ) and for the moment I'm quite happy that I got back on Google SERPs after nearly a week . Is still plenty of time ( IMHO ) and who knows, maybe in the last week I'll take the white rabbit in the blue jumper out of the black hat. ABRAKEDABRA ! :)





I can say that the last 5-6 days were a bit of a mess in my head and God I'm happy they're gone.I had no ideea that sometimes alcohol can fekk you over but I can tell you this...I'll never celebrate Halloween so long again. I'm glad now that I've been sober since Wednesday night : I've never done so many ( good ) things in 48 hours all my life and I hope to keep it like this ( doing things not just drinking )
Well, that's it for tonight, very short because as every good boy now is time to sleep like a baby.

I know, I know ...I started this as a Geansai Gorm watch but I have to handed over to geansaigorm.blogsome.com, they're always gonna do a better job than me on this because, after all I'm only human. So human indeed that I'm still hangover after the Halloween night which, between us, wasn't bad at all.
I didn't wear any blue, red or grey jumper but I can honestly say that I missed the Geansai Gorm contest so much that at around five-ish in the morning I decided to work on ggwinner - BAAAD mistake. Messing around with my robots.txt file made me fall asleep before fixing anything so yesterday I had the lovely surprise to discover that I'm out of the game :) .
After 2 days being steady on the twenty something place in the SERPs now I was nowhere to be found and I couldn't believe it...so I tried again: Google.ie - search for geansai gorm and...nothing.Rien.Niente.Nada. As I'm very stubborn...I tried again : this time only for "Geansai"...and of course :)...no result !
I pretty much didn't remember what I've done the night before but I wanted to find out when another surprise ...didn't surprise me : I couldn't log in the ggwinner's webhost cpanel. I've heard a lot of bad things about this host ( not my usual) and about the customer service they ( don't ) have so I've decided to go back to sleep - one of the brightest ideas I had in the last few days. Thanks God I'm all awake now, all's fixed, I'm back in the search results and my Grandma's words are ringing in my head: "My nephew's a good man but he's drinking to much ice water in the morning ..."
